FAI ATTENZIONE!
A COSA STARE ATTENTI AL MOMENTO DELL'ACQUISTO DI UN KIT DI TUBI FRENO
Sono oggi innumerevoli le marche di tubazioni freno disponibili nel mercato, ma qualsiasi sia la tua scelta, al momento dell'acquisto, fai attenzione a quanto segue.
- Controlla che il prodotto sia omologato secondo le normative FMVSS 106 da un Ente accreditato (i più conosciuti sono il TÜV tedesco e il DOT americano), in questo modo avrai la garanzia che il prodotto soddisfi le caratteristiche tecniche necessarie per il corretto funzionamento di una tubazione per impianto frenante.
- Verifica inoltre che l'omologazione si riferisca effettivamente al prodotto che stai acquistando! Abbiamo constatato infatti che nel mercato circolano prodotti che possono trarre in inganno l'utente. Ricordati che l'omologazione è ritenuta valida solo se, nel punto di fissaggio tra raccordo e tubo, viene riportato il nome dell'Azienda cui fa riferimento il Certificato di Omologazione. Non è quindi sufficiente che il nome compaia sulla confezione o sul tubo.
Solo con la marcatura nel punto di pressatura puoi essere certo che la tubazione frenante sia stata assemblata e testata dalla Casa Madre seguendo quanto previsto dalle Normative; in caso contrario potresti acquistare un prodotto di provenienza sconosciuta oppure un articolo originale, ma modificato successivamente da altri.
Ricordati che in questo caso non sei tutelato!
Controlla tutti i punti di fissaggio dei raccordi del kit che stai acquistando e, se il nome dell'Azienda costruttrice non è riportato anche su uno solo di questi, ricordati che stai affidato la tua sicurezza nelle mani di uno sconosciuto!
Nel caso di un prodotto FREN TUBO, ponendo il raccordo in posizione verticale e ruotandolo, il nome deve essere completamente leggibile.

WHAT TO DOUBLE CHECK WHEN YOU'RE BUYING A BRAKE HOSE KIT
Nowadays there are a large number of brake hose brands on the market, but whichever one you choose, take great care to check the following.
- Make sure the product is certified to FMVSS 106 regulations by a registered certification agency (the best known are the German TÜV and the American DOT) to ensure it meets all technical standards necessary for the correct functioning of your braking system hose.
- You should also check that the certification actually applies to the specific product you're buying! We have actually come across several widely available products that are somewhat misleading. Bear in mind that certification is only valid when the name of the company referred to in the certifying document appears on the junction between the hose and the fitting. In other words, just printing the name of the company on the package or on the hose is not enough.
You can only be sure that the brake hose has been assembled and tested by the manufacturer as prescribed in applicable regulations when the name is engraved on the pressing point ; otherwise you could be buying a product of unknown origin or an original that has been subsequently adapted by someone else.
If this is the case, remember you are not protected!
Check each and every fitting junction in the kit that you're thinking of buying and if the manufacturer's name is not engraved on even just one of them, you could be placing your own safety in the hands of a total stranger!
If you are looking at a FREN TUBO product, hold the fitting upright and turn it slowly: the full brand name must be legible.

QUANDO LA PUBBLICITÀ INDUCE IN INGANNO
Una nota Azienda che produce tubi freno sta utilizzando, per spingere la vendita dei propri prodotti, una tecnica persuasiva secondo noi non corretta.
Questa Azienda non produce i terminali (raccordi finali) delle tubazioni frenanti con materiale in lega di alluminio, ma la loro raccorderia è realizzata esclusivamente in acciaio inossidabile o titanio.
A suo giudizio l'utilizzo della raccorderia in lega di alluminio è pericoloso per il motociclista ed il risparmio di peso ottenuto tramite l'uso di tali particolari è talmente ridotto che non vale la pena di mettere a repentaglio la propria vita.
A supporto di questa teoria riporta tabelle con indicate le resistenze dei vari materiali.
Che cosa deduce l'appassionato da questa affermazione?
Ovviamente che scegliendo la raccordi in lega di alluminio (prodotta da FREN TUBO o altri costruttori) non ha rispetto per la propria vita ed anzi consapevolmente la mette a repentaglio.
Noi che da sempre mettiamo al primo posto la Sicurezza, ci sentiamo lesi da quest'affermazione.
Secondo noi tutto ciò non ha senso, semplicemente perchè il punto più delicato di ogni tubazione frenante è quello del collegamento tra il raccordo finale ed il tubo e quindi si potrebbe costruire un raccordo finale indistruttibile che però se fosse deformato in tal punto perderebbe tutte le caratteristiche di resistenza meccanica.
I termini per confrontarsi sulla Qualità sono stabiliti dalla normativa internazionale FMVSS 106 e riteniamo quindi ingiusto alimentare paure infondate solo per propagandare il proprio prodotto.
Sempre la medesima Azienda sentenzia poi che Kevlar® e carbonio non siano materiali idonei per costruire un tubo freni.
Cosa rispondiamo?
Che siamo ormai abituati a queste affermazioni che ci rendono davvero orgogliosi!
Per il semplice motivo che, quando abbiamo omologato il tubo freno con trecciatura d'acciaio inox, erano in tanti a ritenere che ciò fosse impossibile, in quanto tale tubo non avrebbe secondo loro superato i tests per l'utilizzo su strada. Sono trascorsi 20 anni da allora e sono numerose le Aziende che producono tubi freno trecciati inox omologati.
È avvenuta la stessa cosa, quando abbiamo omologato il tubo freno con trecciatura di Kevlar® e si è ripetuta, quando abbiamo ottenuto l'omologazione del nostro tubo freni con trecciatura di carbonio.
La nostra politica non è denigrare i prodotti dei concorrenti per esaltare i nostri!

ADVERTISING CAN BE DECEIVING!
In order to boost the sales of its products, a well-known manufacturer of brake hoses is using a persuasive technique which we hold to be misleading.
This company chooses not to use aluminium alloy in its brake hose terminal fittings, opting for stainless steel or titanium instead. It claims that aluminium alloy fittings are dangerous for motorcyclists, and the reduction in the weight of aluminium parts is so tiny that it is not worth the additional safety risk involved.
A number of tables indicating the strengths of various materials are provided to support this theory.
What conclusions are motorcyclists expected to draw from this?
Clearly, choosing fittings in aluminium alloy (by FREN TUBO or any other manufacturer) means they have little regard for their own safety, or are even deliberately putting their lives at risk.
Safety has always been a number one priority for us at FREN TUBO, and we are therefore offended by this insinuation. We firmly believe that there are absolutely no grounds to these claims for the simple reason that the most delicate part of every brake hose is the joint between the hose and its terminal fitting. Hence even an indestructible terminal fitting that is faulty or defective at that point would lose all mechanical resistance properties.
The quality of a product is measured against criteria laid down in FMVSS 106 international regulations and so we believe that it is wrong to promote one's own products by spreading unfounded alarm.
The aforementioned company also goes on to allege that Kevlar® and carbon are unsuitable for use as construction materials in brake hoses.
What do we say?
That we are getting used to this kind of allegation by now, and that it actually gives us reason to feel quite proud of ourselves!
Why is that? Well, when we first started manufacturing brake hoses with stainless steel braiding there was widespread belief that they would never pass road tests. That was 20 years ago, and not only have we been certified, numerous companies are now producing brake hoses with stainless steel braiding and they have been certified too.
The same thing happened when we started manufacturing and achieved certification for our Kevlar® braided hose, and the same again with carbon braiding.
Our policy is never to criticize our competitor's products for the sole purpose of promoting our own!
We prefer to devote that energy to further improving our products!
